Whatsub is a tool designed to help users manage and track their recurring subscription services. To function, the app allows users to manually enter general information about their subscriptions such as service name, renewal cycle, and cost.
When you use Whatsub, we collect only the information you choose to enter:
Whatsub will never request or store sensitive personal data such as credit card numbers or banking credentials. The app is not connected to any financial institutions or external payment services.
The information you enter is used solely for the following purposes:
Regarding advertising: Whatsub is a free-to-use service supported in part by advertising. For free plan users, we may use aggregated, non-identifiable patterns from your subscription data (such as the types of services you subscribe to or your general spending range) to determine which advertisements may be relevant to you. This is done entirely within Whatsub and your personal data is never shared with or sold to advertisers. Advertisers only provide us with their ad content; they receive no information about you in return.
You may opt out of interest-based ad targeting at any time in Settings. Opting out means you will still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your subscription profile.
All data entered into Whatsub is stored either locally on your device or in a secure, user-controlled cloud environment if you choose to enable sync. We do not share or sell your data to any third parties.
Whatsub's free plan is supported by advertising. Free plan users may encounter:
Watching a rewarded ad is always voluntary. You will never be shown an ad as a condition of accessing core functionality unrelated to the specific feature being unlocked.
Supporter and Team plan owners are not shown ads. Team plan members who remain on the free plan will continue to see ads; a separate Supporter plan is required to remove ads for individual members.
Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information they enter. Whatsub and its creators are not liable for missed notifications, billing issues, or financial consequences arising from incorrect or incomplete data. Whatsub does not guarantee prevention of unexpected charges or subscription lapses. By using the app, you acknowledge that responsibility for managing your subscriptions lies solely with you.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of Whatsub after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
